

Vincent J. Messina, age 79, died Monday, June 25, 2012. He was born Wednesday, December 7, 1932 to Vincent and Lena (nee Ernandez) Messina in Detroit, Michigan. Vince was a dedicated military veteran who served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army for 2 years where he was proud to serve his country. Vince was a compassionate man. He was soft spoken and extremely kind. He was a gentle man and never spoke a bad word of anyone. Vince loved small game hunting, fishing, and the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings. He was rather good at computers and like to text and look at facebook on his Smartphone. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles, but most of all he enjoyed his family. Vince is dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Loving husband of Edith for 52 years. Beloved father of Vincent (Elisha) Messina and Kim (Andy) Messina-Slifco. Proud grandfather of Vincent, Michael and Brent Messina. Dear brother of Marie (the late Jerry) Jabalee. Special friend of Toni. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, June 29, 2012 from 2:00pm until 9:00pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile), Warren. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 12:30pm (instate 12:00pm) St. Edmunds Catholic Church, 14025 E. 12 Mile, Warren. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.
