Virginia E. Corso, age 86 of Warren, died December 18, 2014. She was born in Christianburg, Virginia on August 3, 1928; the daughter of Lawrence and Mae (nee Simpkins) Akers. Virginia was a longtime and devoted member of Warren Woods Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed her career as a beautician and working on the flowers in her garden. She will be remembered for her selfless generosity and for being a pleasure to be around. Beloved wife of the late George F. for 55 years. Loving mother of George E. (Bonnie). Treasured grandmother of Anthony and James. Dearest sister of Clinton "Sunny" (Pat) Akers, Larry (Suzette) Akers and the late Billy Akers. Dear aunt of Wayne, Wesley and Tammy. Visitation will be held Monday, December 22, 2014 from 2:00pm until 9:00pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile), Warren. Instate Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 10:00am until time of service 11:00am at Warren Woods Church of the Nazarene, 14300 E. 13 Mile Rd., Warren. Interment will take place at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.
