Wayne Stone

Wayne Stone, age 80 of Eastpointe, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on June 29, 2016. He was born in Highland Park on September 24, 1935; the son of Clarence and Ardith (Nee Izzard) Stone. Wayne was employed as a clerk at the Michigan Consolidated Gas Company for 40 years, where he was known for his excellent work ethic. Wayne was also a longtime member of the VFW Dad's Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Wayne spent much of his time sharing stories and going on leisurely walks with his cherished confidant, Jordan. Wayne was a hard worker with a genuine personality. He kept busy, but was always willing to lend a hand to others. At the end of a long day, he always enjoyed a good, cold beer. Beloved husband of Norma for 52 years. Loving father of Diana (Steve) Camacci, Kimberly (Raj) Sikand, Steven (Maxine) and James (Melody). Treasured grandfather of 10, including his pride and joy and best friend, Jordan. Proud great-grandfather of 5. Dear brother of Michael (Jean) and the late John. Brother-in-law of Fred and Linda. Caring uncle to many nieces and nephews. Wayne's family will receive friends on Friday, July 1st from 2-8PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile), Warren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 2nd at 10AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
