Lynn, I am very sorry to hear about your father. I know we haven't talked in a long time but I wanted you to know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

As I grew up and my parents took me to church at the Tabernacle (formerly Evangel Temple). One person always stood out to our family and that was Buddy. He was always friendly and kind. Loved the Lord so much , along with his family God had blessed him with. He always had a encouraging words and a smile on his face. Thank you Lord for blessing my family,along with countless ones. I finally figured out how to post on here! I think I'm about as tech savy as you, Grandpa. Now that I finally can, I can't remember what I was going to say. I can't remember much right now. And then sometimes all I can do is remember everything. I picked out one of your ties for Jackson to wear. It's purple, my favorite. Noah was at your house and he wanted one too. Grandma told him to take good care of it and he said he would, while he was stuffing it into a small pocket of his Star Wars backpack. It's now on our life sized storm trooper guy. He looks so nice, like you always did. I hope my boys make you proud. I know how much they meant to you. I don't like saying things in past tense. It's only been a couple days...I guess I'll get use to it. Grandma is doing so good. I mean, she can't wait to get there and be with you but so strong. You know? She read to Noah yesterday. I love her voice. I always say she's the best story teller. I wish I was 5 again sleeping over in the room that we pretended was a choo-choo train. Reading Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Just for a minute. I know I'll see you so soon. I wonder what it's like??? I wonder who you are with...Grandma said a lot of people and I just can't remember who but I said maybe Noah! Not my Noah of course. The Noah. ðŸ’œ I could go on and on. I feel like I'm talking right to you. I hope so. I love you Grandpa. So much. I can't wait to see you. ðŸ’‹

Buddy was a brother to my dad Leo. We always enjoyed spending time with him and Ruth anytime the opportunity arose, especially in the fall at our picnics at the Pond Creek Reunion. The thoughts are prayers of our entire family are surely with Uncle Buddy's family now and in the days ahead.

With my dearest regards. I loved the man. He was a true man of God. Stood up for what he believed. God Bless you Ruth. You are loved.

I remember as a young family of 7 at Evangel Temple he always made it a point to show us kindness. Now we have grown to a family of 24 all serving in Church still because of the example He and Ruth set. He must be so happy at this very moment. I'm sure there are many star's in his crown. Remembering fondly the Scott family from The Tabernacle at Conner and Mack, and also Evangel Temple (now Tabernacle Christian Church) in Warren. Prayers for peace and comfort that only the Holy Spirit can bring.

In the fall of 1960 when I decided little league football was too difficult my father sat on the front porch with me and talked for quite a long time...about football, specifically, and about life in general. He didn't exactly say so but I realized from our discussion that the reason i wanted to quit the football team (it was too hard) was the very reason i needed to keep playing. I stayed in the game through high school and was rewarded with life long friendships with people I would likely never have met had I dropped from the team in 1960. One of the many lessons I learned from him.
My dad was often proud of me and my brother, Bill. On rare occasions I suspect he may have been disappointed in one or both of us. Either way he was always kind and I truly believed him when he said, "this is going to hurt me more than it will hurt you."
My father will be missed by everyone who ever met him but, of course, he will be waiting to welcome us.
I will celebrate the life he lived.
