

William DeVos passed away peacefully at Medilodge of Richmond on February 14, 2012. He was born in Detroit on July 23, 1920; son of Andrew and Martha (nee VanHee) DeVos. William served proudly in the United States Army during WWII. He was stationed in the Phillipines as well as other areas of the Pacific. After the war Bill was a Land Record Recorder for the government. He was ant active member of the VFW Bruce Post in St. Clair Shores. Mr. DeVos was an avid golfer. After retirement he moved to Ft. Lauderdale for about twenty-four years before returning to Michigan. Mr. DeVos is survived by his son Raymond (Gloria). He leaves behind his grandchildren Deborah Iacona and Raymond Jr. and great-grandchildren Anthony and Jacqueline Cuciurean. He was predeceased by wives Virginia and Charlotte. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. There will be a scripture service at 7:00 pm and the VFW Bruce Post will conduct a ceremony at 7:30 pm. Mr. DeVos will lie instate on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack, St. Clair Shores. Monsignor G. Michael Bugarin will officiate. Burial will be at Willow Grove Cemetery in Armada.
