

Brenda Blackburn, 78, a cherished lifelong member of the Grove City community, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024. Brenda is preceded in death by her father Alex Hall, and mother Rhoda Curry of Mingo County, West Virginia. Brenda was a devoted, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose radiant smile and contagious laugh left an indelible mark on all that knew her.
Born on November 4, 1946, Brenda dedicated her life to connecting with others and enriching her community. She was a former realtor with H.E.R. and the proud owner of Bren & Co. hair salon where her passion and charisma shone brightly. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she will be remembered for her kind spirit and her ability to make everyone she met feel like a lifelong friend.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Bill Blackburn; her daughter, Dr. Tracy Johnson, and her son-in-law Chris Johnson; her beloved granddaughters Brittany Hall (fiancé Tyler Schnurstein), Madison Hall and Fae Hall (significant other Solstice Brooke-Willbanks); and her stepson William Roby Blackburn. Her family was her greatest joy and she was endlessly proud of each of them.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Pinnacle Community Center in Grove City. All who knew Brenda are invited to come together to honor her memory, share stories and celebrate the beautiful life she lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Columbus Dog Connection, in honor of her beloved dog, Molly.
Brenda will be deeply missed but her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
