

Carole “Blondy” Ervin Ratcliff, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. Carole was born July 17, 1939 in New Rome, Ohio to the late Owen and Zoni (Mills) Ervin. She was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Grove City and the Adventure Club Cook for many years. She was a world-class baker, a.k.a. “The Cake Lady”. Meatloaf was one of her favorite bands as well as one of her favorite things to make. She had a contagious laugh and anytime that you wanted to find her, you could follow the sound of her laughter. She would always say “no fools, no fun”. She was a loving Nanny to all. She enjoyed spending time with her family watching her children and grandchildren at sporting events and 4-H. Carole was a Manicurist for many years as well as an entrepreneur. In her words, “Nanny lived a wonderful life. Thanks be to God.” In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Raybourn T. Ratcliff; siblings, Sarah Ervin and Gary Lee Ervin; and granddaughter, Nicole Ratcliff. Carole is survived by her children, Carole Ruth (David) Bowsher and Scott (Kathy) Ratcliff; grandchildren, Benjamin (Meagan) Bowsher, Katlyn Browning, and Kyle Ratcliff; great-grandson, Colt Browning; great-granddaughter, Raelynn Bowsher; siblings, Owen (Jan) Ervin, Mary Ann (Roger) Johnson, Ed (Arlene) Ervin, Darrell Ervin, and Karen Ervin; and many cousins, nieces, nephews; and friends. Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd., (HOOVER RD AT KINGSTON AVE), Grove City where Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment Pleasant Cemetery, Mount Sterling.
