Cheryl Lee DeLong

Cheryl Lee DeLong, 77, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 31, 2025. She was born April 10, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio to the late William and Mildred (Placke) Joyce. Cheryl graduated from Franklin Heights High School in 1965. Her family meant the world to her, and she cherished their time together at all family gatherings. An avid reader, Cheryl also loved doing puzzles, playing Scrabble, and hunting for treasures while antiquing and going to yard sales. Her Christian faith was central to her life, she enjoyed reading her bible daily, and attended Vineyard Grove City regularly until her health began to decline. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Greg and Mike Joyce. Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, Gerald “Gene” DeLong; son, Steve (Regina) Schwartz; daughter, Amanda (Theodore) Whittington; grandchildren, Alexandra (Alex Wachovec) Schwartz, Anna Schwartz, Samantha (Alex) McDowell, Natalie (Austin) Taylor, Abby Whittington, and many other relatives and friends including childhood friend, Joyce Bryant. Visitation will be held 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd., Grove City where funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment Sunset Cemetery.
