

Donald Gene Perry, age 87, of Grove City, Ohio passed away peacefully of natural causes on Monday, April 28, 2025. He was born January 14, 1938 in Wayne County, West Virginia. He spent a good deal of his younger years with his Grandmother, Ma Vic who lived at the mouth of Mud Lick. He married the love of his life, Judi, on August 1, 1959. Together, they built a lifetime of memories and shared a bond that was a shining example of true partnership.
Don was a hardworking man and maintained a strong work ethic his entire life. He took great pride in providing for his family. He was an avid fan of car racing and spent many nights on turn 4 at Columbus Motor Speedway. He was also a lifelong Cincinnati Reds fan and loved watching baseball games especially with friends and family.
Don was a CB radio enthusiast, even dedicating an entire room in his home to his hobby. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, spending time with family, and caring for his animals.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Judi; parents, Woodrow and Betty (Thompson) Dolby; and sisters, Dulcia (Tudy) Blevins and Linda Naylor.
Don is survived by his son, James Donald Perry; daughter, Leisa (Michael) Kentner; grandchildren, Natalie Perry, Shawnee (Jared) Eichenlaub, Cory (Molly) Esson, and Jenn (Jared) Truxall; great-grandchildren, Jaina, Lincoln, and Lucy; sister, Christine Shaver; brothers, Patrick (Sue) Allen and David (Kim) Allen; nephew, Mark Moro; and sister-in-law, Jeanne (William) Bruce, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2025 at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd., Grove City, OH 43123. Services are private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Don’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association-Central Ohio Chapter (https://www.alz.org/centralohio).
