Earl "Pete" Baughman

Earl “Pete” Baughman, age 98, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023 a week before his 99th birthday. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Jane, parents, Enoch and Marie (Ritchey) Baughman and after his father passed away when Earl was only 2 days old he was raised by John Sarver who also precedes him in death. Earl married his wife, Jane on July 31, 1948. They had just celebrated 70 years of marriage when she passed. Jane and Earl spent 20 winters in Florida so he could golf year round. The first 3 in Naples and the last 17 in Tampa Bay. Pete is survived by his son, Joel (Erin Kelly) Baughman; grandchildren, Corrin (Nick) Knebel and Brian (Ellen) Baughman; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Elliott Knebel, Alice and Aaron Baughman; step-granddaughters, Courtney (Chris) Dekle, Kellye (Dustyn Rezes) Wilkin, step-great grandchildren, Trenten, Cameren, Brianna, Grayson, Billy along with a host of other relatives and friends. Pete was a part of the Greatest Generation and served in the Army during WWII. He graduated from East Canton High School and retired after 38 years of service with Canton Supply Company. Besides golf, he enjoyed watching sports especially the Cleveland Indians, Browns and the OSU Buckeyes. Pete enjoyed working with his hands and was an integral part of redesigning the family cabin at Lake Berlin. A visitation time will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 4-6 pm at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY 4242 Hoover Rd (Hoover Rd and Kingston Ave.) A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 11 am at Forest Hill Cemetery in Canton, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital in Pete’s name.
