

Floyd Cameron Ayers, age 67 of Columbus passed away Friday, July 7. Floyd grew up in Grove City, the son of the late Charles and Vera (née White) Ayers. He was a 1974 graduate of Westland High School. He Retired from Columbus Wood Products. He was a long time member of Alcoholics Anonymous, a member of the Good Morning Breakfast Group and sober for 38 years. He enjoyed interacting with all the friends he made through AA. Floyd enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and mushroom hunting. He was an avid New York Yankees fan. Above all else, Floyd loved his kids, grandkids, and family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his nephew Charles Wray Ayers. Floyd is survived by his children Caitlin Ayers and Jeffrey Ayers; He was ‘Grandpa Floyd” to his grandchildren Cameron, Dylan, and Braeden. Floyd is also survived by his brothers Wendell (June), Anthony (Docia), Robert, and James (Dianne) Ayers; nieces and nephews; and best friend Bruce Storts. Floyd’s family will receive friends 10-12 PM Thursday, July 13 at Schoedinger Grove City 4242 Hoover Rd (Hoover Rd at Kingston Ave) where his funeral service will follow at 12 PM.
