Ina Ann Fulkerson Knupp passed away peacefully at her home on December 3, 2025. She was born on March 20, 1937, in South Zanesville, Ohio. Ina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She married Duane Knupp in 1955, and together they raised six children in Grove City, Ohio. For 60 years, she was a loving partner and supporting her husband through his 35-year career at General Motors and caring for him with unwavering devotion during his final decade as he faced Parkinson’s disease.
Ina’s family was the most important thing in the world to her, and she devoted her life to them. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family has fond memories of her delicious home-cooked meals. Her Thanksgiving pies were the best. For many years, she loved hosting family dinners every Saturday, where she cooked wonderful meals. Christmas was especially meaningful to her, as she loved giving gifts and gathering everyone together.
Music was a lifelong passion for Ina, who played the saxophone in high school. She fostered this love in her children, driving them to weekly lessons and encouraging early-morning practice sessions for all six before school. Ina was a champion of learning. She took her children to the library every week during the summer, and they would return with stacks of books to read. She organized spelling bees and other educational activities at home. She enjoyed spending time in her yard planting beautiful flowers to enjoy, and feeding and watching the birds.
Ina had an entrepreneurial spirit and an openness to new technology. She conducted telephone surveys for many years and was among the early adopters of email, using it to keep in touch with family. Later, she launched a graphic and scrapbook design business that showcased her creativity. She was an enthusiastic Ohio State football and basketball fan, a passion first sparked while listening to games on the radio with her father. Her two beloved cats were constant, loyal companions.
Ina was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mabel Fulkerson; brothers, Donald Fulkerson (Eleanor); and Mark (Edna) Fulkerson; and sisters, Phyllis (Clarence) Rasor, Mary Lou (Robert) Powell, and her grandson, Jeremy. Ina is survived by her children: Terry (Sarah) Knupp, Larry (Sheila) Knupp, Laurie Salo, Linda (Kent) Seamons, Karen (Neil Baker) Dover, and Dean (Lisa) Knupp; thirteen grandchildren: Ryan (Katrina), Tricia (Matt), Ben (Ashleigh), Alex H. (Sally), Sara (Andy), Christopher (Brittany), Lucas (Erin), Eric (Alejandra), Alex D. (Kristen), Brian (Janet), Daniel, Maria, and Noah; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Schoedinger Grove City Chapel, 4242 Hoover Rd., Grove City, Ohio, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the cat division of Columbus Humane.
Thank you to all of the people who shared in our mom’s care: her aide, Vicky and her nurse, Jamie, and the many others from Capital City Hospice. A special thanks is due to all six of Ina’s children, who shared in taking care of her 24/7 in her home for over four years.
