James William Malfe Jr.

James William "Jim" Malfe, Jr., born on September 20, 1942, peacefully passed away on June 19, 2024, at the age of 81. He was a cherished coworker, father, and friend. Jim was a proud U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam era. He was a member of AmVets Post 2000, Eagles, American Legion Post 142, and the Moose Lodge. He dedicated 37 years of his life to Kroger, where he worked diligently until his well-deserved retirement. He found immense joy in the simplicity of life, particularly through his passion for golf and the camaraderie he shared with his friends on the green. He was an avid golfer and loved golfing 3 to 4 times a week. He played 13 seasons in the Senior Citizen's Golf League in Reynoldsburg. A graduate of Bishop Watterson High School, Jim held steadfast to his Catholic faith throughout his life, finding solace and guidance in its teachings. He was preceded in death by his parents, James, Sr. and Rayma (Burgess) Malfe; brother, William "Billy" Malfe; sons, Bryan and Tyler Malfe; and fur baby, Frankie. Jim is survived by his beloved daughter, Julie Malfe; son, Michael Malfe; sisters, Sandra Malfe and Raemali King; brothers, Thomas and John (Melanie) Malfe; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends. A memorial service celebrating Jim’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2024 at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd., Grove City. His family will receive family and friends one hour prior to his service. Procession and inurnment with military honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 S High St, Lockbourne, OH 43137.
