James T. “Jim” Redden of Grove City, Ohio, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022, at 92 years old. Jim was born in Columbus, Ohio, on February 20, 1930, to Robert C. and Mary Amrine Redden. In addition to his parents, his wife, Iris Jean “Jean” Amos Redden, whom he married in 1952, predeceased him. He is survived by his loving daughter, Sue E. Redden-Nash (Dan Holbrook); grandson, Jeremy Nash; great-grandchildren, other family and friends. Jim was an avid deer hunter with both rifle and bow. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling, boating and water-skiing. He lovingly cared for his wife during her final extended illness and visited her grave daily as long as he was physically able. Like many veterans, Jim was reluctant to discuss his government service. He had recently proudly revealed that as a member of an elite Marine force, he had participated in special missions to infiltrate North Korean POW camps and free American prisoners. Jim’s family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday, June 17 at Schoedinger Grove City 4242 Hoover Rd (Hoover Rd at Kingston Ave) where his funeral service will be held 12 PM Saturday. Interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society at 875 N. Randolph St., Suite 225, Arlington, VA 22203, Attention: Development Dept.
