Joyce A. Schoch

Joyce A. Schoch, age 74 of Columbus passed away Monday, January 15, 2024 at Doctors Hospital. Joyce was born in Columbus and the daughter of the late Elvin and Freida (Iftner) Schoch. Joyce was a 1967 graduate of Pleasant View High School. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in German Village and a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Grove City. She was a computer programmer and worked for Buckeye Federal and later the City of Columbus with over 30 years of service. She volunteered at the Cancer Thrift Shop in Grove City and supported veterans through The Wounded Warriors Project and other organizations that care for the welfare of veterans. Joyce was an avid reader. She never met a stranger and would always be the first to jump in and help someone in need. Joyce is survived by her brother Fred Schoch; companion Jim Scheiderer; cousin Allen Schoch; and many other cousins and friends. Joyce’s family will receive Friends 4-7 PM Monday, January 22 at Schoedinger Grove City 4242 Hoover Rd (Hoover Rd at Kingston Ave) where her funeral service will be held 10 AM Tuesday, January 23. Pastor Ed Engelbrecht officiating. Interment at a later date at Grove City Cemetery.
