Louis was born in Nashville, Tennessee, then the family moved to Columbus, Ohio, where he grew up and met the love of his life, Nancy. They were married on October 7, 1952, and Louis went into the Navy 11 days later to serve his country in the Korean War. While in the Navy, he served in Special Services, picking his guitar and singing in a band. He toured around the world and even sang on the Grand Ole Opry. Louis accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in a tent revival in 1955. He then began to sing a different song. He would sing to the homeless, county jails, prisons, the streets, and anywhere he was allowed.
Louis and Nancy had four children by birth who were taught music at a young age and began traveling as the Reynolds family all over Ohio and anywhere they were invited. When traveling became hard with a family of six, Louis became the pastor at Washington Court House Church of God and then pastored Grove City Church of God.
Louis and Nancy became foster parents in 1985, and their first child was a baby girl straight from the hospital, three days old. Cheryle helped name her Sarah from the Bible. They fell in love with her and adopted her as their own. They fostered over 400 children throughout the years.
Louis then became the chaplain at the Beulah Park Racetrack in Grove City, Ohio. The family ministered to the jockeys and their families, sharing God’s love with them. Before Louis retired from the ministry, he had over 50 years in the Church of God, but he never stopped playing and singing for the Lord anytime he could get someone to listen and sing along with him.
