Mark R. List

Mark Roger List, 84, of Grove City passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and children on April 26, 2025. He was born to Luther and Dorothy List on September 18, 1940 in Circleville, OH.

Mark graduated from Pickaway Township High School and The Ohio State University. Mark was a member of Alpha Gamma Sigma Agriculture Fraternity and served as president of the Chapter and the Alumni Association. He was the first president of the AGS Foundation, and for more than fifty years, he helped raise funds for dozens of scholarships awarded to agriculture students at OSU.

Most of Mark’s career involved work with agriculture organizations, and he retired in 1999 as a Deputy Director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture. He enjoyed his work with Ohio’s County and Independent Fairs, especially the Ohio State Fair. He was inducted into the Ohio Agricultural Hall of Fame as well the Ohio State Fair Hall of Fame. He was a Lions Club member for over 51 years. Mark served on Grove City Council and as a member of Jackson Township Board of Trustees. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.

Mark is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jeanette, their children, Roger (Jennifer) and Dawn, three grandchildren, Maverick, Joselin and Marin, sister, Brenda Huffines, sisters-in-law Joanne Guy, Carolyn List and JoAnn Leatherwood, brothers-in-law Kenny Cummings and Jim Thomas, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and special friends Ann and Floyd Furrow.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 13 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and for one hour prior to the Celebration of Life on Wednesday May 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Bethel Lutheran Church at 4501 Hoover Road, Grove City, OH 43123. A luncheon will follow at noon.
