Mattie (Purcell) Frey

Mattie (Purcell) Frey, age 77, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Kobacker House, surrounded by her loving family. Born to George and Angela Mederos, she is now reunited in eternal rest with her beloved daughter, Keisha Purcell; her husbands, Joseph William Purcell and Charles Frey; as well as her siblings, Henry Mederos and Miriam Trelles.

Mattie is survived by her son, Joseph Purcell; her daughter, Tonya Purcell; and her cherished grandchildren, Chandra Ramey, Tiffany (Kiamani) Abron, Chalinea Ramey, and Storm Ramey. She also leaves behind her great-grandson, Reyland Obert; her brother, George Mederos; and half-brothers Kevin and Darryl Mederos, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Mattie dedicated a significant part of her career to Zantigo for 10 years before retiring from Discover Card after 20 years of service. Known for her creativity, she found joy in crafting, gardening, and raising beautiful orchids.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 4 to 7 PM at Schoedinger Grove City, located at 4242 Hoover Rd. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 10 AM with Father Thomas Buffer officiating. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Lockbourne, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio, Attn: Development Department, 711 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43205.

Mattie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
