

Robert E. “Bob” Eesley, age 94, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, December 16, 2023. Bob was born in Grove City to the late Earnest and Lillian (Ziner) Eesley. He was a proud lifelong resident of Grove City and a faithful member of St John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Bob had a generous spirit and always maintained a positive outlook. Family, work, friends and his church were his focus. After a 20+ year career at Mid-Continent Manufacturing (later 3M), Bob worked for J.E. Wiggins & Co. for 50 years - 15 as owner. Bob was an avid fan of Ohio State basketball and made several trips with the team, including attending many of their Final Four appearances. While not known as a gourmet, Bob enjoyed dining out at his regular spots and could often be heard ordering a burger as "bun, meat, cheese, bun, and burn it!”. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Norma Jean (Hughes) Eesley; son-in-law Ernie Howard; grandson Bob Howard; and brother Raymond Eesley. He is survived by his children; Cathy Howard, Mike (Meg) Eesley, Tom Eesley, and Jon (Tami) Eesley; his grandchildren; Toby Howard, Eren (Brandon) Loughry, Eric (Lee Anne) Eesley, Graham (Katie) Eesley, Garrett (Erika) Eesley; and his great-grandchildren; Halen Howard, Catherine, Pierce, Lane, Greyson and Grady Eesley. Bob is also survived by his sister Marilyn Kemz and long time friend, Paul Jacobs. Bob’s family will receive friends 4-7 PM Thursday, December 21 at Schoedinger Grove City 4242 Hoover Rd. Funeral Service is 10 AM Friday, December 22, 2023 at St John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church 3220 Columbus St. Grove City. Pastor Patti Morlock officiating. Interment to follow at Galloway Cemetery.
