Ronald E Gerhardt

Ronald E. Gerhardt, age 88 of Columbus passed away Monday, May 1, 2023. Ron was born in Derby, OH to the late Ernest and Kathleen (Porter) Gerhardt. He retired from General Motors after many years of dedicated service. Ron enjoyed gardening, painting, hunting and doing projects like building his beloved gazebo at his home. He was a devoted and caring family man. Ron was a longtime member of the Grove City Lodge F&AM #689 and donated blood regularly to the American Red Cross. . In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters Evelyn Evans, Mary Wilkins, and Maxine Kay; and brothers Bill, Raymond, Jimmy and Dale Gerhardt. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Shirley; children Gary D. (Cindy) Gerhardt, Andrew E Gerhardt, and Leigh (Kirk) Trammel; grandchildren Maria, Zach, Joe, Hayden, Diana, Payton, and Josh; brother Richard Gerhardt; dear friends John Morgan, Jim Huntzinger and Tricia Daniels. Ron’s family will receive friends 12-1 PM Monday May 15 at Schoedinger Grove City 4242 Hoover RD (Hoover Rd at Kingston Ave) where a masonic service will follow at 1 PM. A Funeral Service will immediately follow the Masonic Service.
