Julia M. Broussard

Julia Morris Broussard, 76 years old, of Port Arthur, Texas departed this life on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Cypress Glen Nursing Home under the care of Odyssey Hospice Care. Julia was born in Crowley, Louisiana through the union of Vile and Edna Morris. Eventually moving to Houston, Texas, Julia in later years relocated to Port Arthur where she was employed at Port Arthur Community Child Care Center where she retired from.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Vile and Edna Morris; sisters and brother, Hazel Drake (Cornelius Drake), Anthony Vile Morris, Mary “Pie” Trotter (Roger Trotter); and one grandchild, Jessica P. Boone,

She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Brunetta Broussard and her son - Joquin Broussard; Jeanne M. Hines and her husband, Randy T. Hines as well as their son Randy T. Hines II; and Bernadine Boone Thomas and her husband, Terrance Thomas as well as their sons, Joseph Boone Jr. and Justin Boone; two sisters, Catherine “Black” Jackson and her children, Kathryn, Gloria Ann, Lenora, Curley Jr., and Bartley; and Teresa Broussard and her children, Nathaniel, Lydia, Gloria, Walford Lee and Kevin. Hazel and Corneilus’s children, Joseph and Robert Wayne; Anthony’s daughter, Vina Mae; and Mary and Roger’s children, Jonathan, Crystal, Clifford Jr. and Chad. She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 3617 Gulfway Dr., Port Arthur, TX 77640. Funeral colors are lavender and black. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Repast dinner will be held at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 821 Texas Avenue, Port Arthur, TX 77640. (409) 985-9977.
