Lilly M. Schexnayder

Lilly Mary Schexnayder, 82, of Port Arthur died December 16, 2011, surrounded by her family, at M.D. Anderson Hospital.Born June 29, 1929 in New Iberia, Louisiana, she was a resident of the area for seventy-two years and was the daughter of Estine Gonsoulin Thibodeaux and Camille Thibodeaux.Lilly liked to cook, clean house, sew, and travel. She previously worked at the Fair Store and Blanton Laundry and will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and MawMaw.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Floyd Schexnayder of Port Arthur; children, Belinda Gaudet and her husband, Larry of Southlake, Eric Schexnayder and his wife, Kathey of Port Neches, Kurt Schexnayder and his wife, Karen of Port Neches, and Floyd Schexnayder, Jr. and his wife, Connie of North Richland Hills; brother, Robert Thibodeaux of Nederland; sister, Jean Hill of Nederland; grandchildren, Scott Gaudet, Shawn Gaudet, Lance Schexnayder, Lauren Schexnayder, Jason Schexnayder, Steven Schexnayder, Stefanie Wright, Andy Snider and Jenna Cooley; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lucille Landry.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2011 at Broussard’s Chapel, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland followed by burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday evening, December 18, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
