Willie Snowden, Sr., 73, of Port Arthur, TX died August 20, 2013 at Christus St. Mary Hopsital. A native of Bunkie, LA, he was a retired bus driver with Port Arthur ISD and a faithful member of Barnes Memorial Methodist Church for 32 years.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years Sadie Snowden of Port Arthur, TX; son, Willie Snowden, Jr. (Diane) of Austin, TX; daughters Debra Snowden (Chris) of Port Arthur, TX and Gretchen Mayfield of Port Arthur, TX; granddaughters Ariyona and Samaya; two brothers, Rufus Snowden of Port Arthur and Bill Snowden of Bunkie, LA; two sisters, Ora Lee Guillory of Port Arthur and Lena Washington of Bunkie, LA; his best friend, Ronald Taylor, Sr. of Port Arthur; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Barnes Memorial Methodist Church with a viewing from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
