Alexander Lisk Alex Hyndman

HYNDMAN, Alexander Lisk - Passed away peacefully, on Saturday, June 20, 2009, at the age of 80, after a valiant battle with cancer. True as the dial to the sun, Alex was the beloved husband of Lily (Buick). They married in Northern Ireland in 1953 before beginning a new life in Canada in 1954. Proud and loving father of Irene and her husband Jim Brewster and Richard and his wife Sarah, Alex was a devoted granddad to Connor (Vicky), Kayleigh, Will and Claire and great-grandson. Tyson. He truly was their biggest fan. A dear brother to Billy (Lily) and Jacky (Sandra) of Northern Ireland, Alex was predeceased by sister, Eileen Thorton (Eric); brother-in-law, Cecil and nephew, David Meek. He will be deeply missed by his sister-in-law, Mary Meek, her daughter-in-law Eliza and son Christopher and many nieces and nephews back in Ireland. Thank you to the doctors and nurses for your care and compassion, helping Alex live his life as "a happy Irish man" to the very end. Memorial Visitation will be held at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel , 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph on Thursday, June 25, 2009, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, June 26, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society and/or The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital would truly honour Alex's kind and generous spirit.
