Proud and doting Dziadzia to Joseph and Sarah. Loving brother of Frances Lorenc (the late Stefan Lorenc) of Brampton. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Jozef and Maria (Lubienska), sisters Stefania Juszczyszyn, Karoline Mizera and Wanda Chrobot.
Antoni was born in Wolcze, Poland on February 3, 1939, and immigrated to Canada in 1953 with his family. While happy to be a new Canadian, he was fiercely proud of his Polish heritage. His love of country and the traditions that came with it was something he was always eager to share.
The importance of family was a guiding principle in Antoni’s life. Few things provided him with more happiness than family gatherings, no matter how big or small. Whether that included striking up a song at a party, providing a sample of his home-made cherry brandy to house guests or hitting the dance floor with the love of his life, Emilia, you knew that you were in for a fun time when he was around. It was always the “who” and not the “what” that mattered most to him.
His devotion to his beloved wife, especially in her later years, was awe inspiring to his sons and to her caregivers. He became a daily fixture at St. Joe’s with all the caregivers knowing him personally over the years.
The family would like to thank everyone that helped dad throughout his journey. Special blessings go out to Dr. Choong, Dr. Molkovsky and Dr. Kennedy, Nurse Shannon at Bayshore, all the caring PSWs and Travis at CarePartners, all the nurses, PSWs and volunteers at Hospice Wellington and Melanie for keeping dad comfortable and making him French Toast. The support we received will be remembered always.
