Charito, known as "Chat" was well-loved and will always be remembered for her kindness, hospitality, and positiveness in life. She was a trusted confidant and a mother to many people. Her faith in God, which helped her get through the most difficult times, was her greatest strength.
Chat was born on April 18, 1958 to Valerio and Francisca Alcantara in the Philippines. She worked as an accountant in the Philippines and pursued different businesses in Canada. During her last years, she immensely enjoyed working at St. Joseph Health Centre in Guelph where she was admired by her co-workers and residents.
Family was a priority in Chat's life. She was a devoted wife to her husband Ramon Nino. They had many adventures together as she was his personal GPS. She was a loving and supportive mother to her children Frances, Patrick, and Monica. She loved her children-in-law Peng, Carly, and Steven like they were her own. She was the best Lola for her grandchildren Jake, Gabrielle, Arielle, Jordyn, Jonathan, Kai, and Ellie. She was a caring sister to her younger brother Larry Alcantara and to all her brothers and sisters in law. Chat's kindness and caring presence will truly be missed by her family.
We would like to thank Dr. Josephine De La Torre for her excellent care and for advocating on Chat's behalf. We would also like to thank our family and friends for their support and prayers during difficult times.
You may be gone from our sight, but never gone from our hearts. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
