

Born in Niagara Falls on March 25th, 1952, David spent many years devoted to serving his community as a long-time transit driver for the Niagara Region Transit Company. He took pride in his work and was known for his reliability, kindness, and the familiar presence he provided to countless riders over the years.
David’s life and legacy will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. His steady nature, quiet dedication, and the connections he built throughout his career and community will not be forgotten.
David was the beloved husband of 19 years to Cheryl(Bolzon). David was the brother of the late Susan Woram (Larry) and Paul (Kate) Smyth. He was the loving father of Emily(Nathan), Luke(Sarah), and Peter(Jessica), and stepfather to Christopher(Tracey) and Micheal. He was a cherished grandfather to Wyatt, Isla, Desmond, Ayla, Clementine, and Mikayla.
David loved playing the guitar, watching all types of sports and travelling.
Thank you to the doctors and nurses of the 4 West Medical Wing at Guelph General Hospital for the compassionate and attentive care they provided to David. Your dedication and professionalism brought comfort during a difficult time.
The family would also like to extend their sincere gratitude to the team at Wellington Hospice for their exceptional support and kindness. Your presence made an immeasurable difference, and are deeply appreciative.
Visitation will be held at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin Street North, Guelph, Ontario, on December 12th, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
As expressions of sympathy, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
