Donald Sheldon Stockton

STOCKTON, Donald Sheldon Peacefully, on Sunday, December 9, 2007, at St. Joseph's Health Centre, Guelph with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband of Lois for 51 years. Loving father of Linda Stockton Wigmore (Michael), Douglas (Janet), Laurie Stockton (Tom), Debra Stockton and Lisa Stockton (Tony). Cherished Grampy of Amy, Sara, Paul, Melissa, Heather, Connor, Nolan, Ryan, Kayla, Hayden and Jessica. Loving brother of Jim (Jessica), Helen Stockton, and Marion Gloeckler (Otto). Donald will be dearly missed by cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Don was a dedicated employee of United Cooperatives of Ontario for 32 years, followed by 10 years' service with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. Don was an active Rotarian involved with the International Student Exchange Program. He was past President of the Guelph Wellington Men's Club, and was a volunteer with the Canadian Executive Service Organization, where he participated in six missions. Don will be remembered for his great love of nature, especially his trees. "You have been an inspiration to all of us." The family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph on Wednesday from 7 - 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Friday, December 14, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. Cremation has taken place.
