Dugald Doug MacLean

MacLEAN, Dugald (Doug) - November 23, 1943 - May 30, 2009 Peacefully at home, with his family by his side, Doug passed away from the dreadful disease of Peritoneal Mesothelioma, a cancer caused by exposure to asbestos during the 43 years he worked at his trade of Insulation Mechanic. Doug is the most treasured husband and best friend for 42 years of Anne (Cassidy), and cherished Dad of Rozanne (Paolo) Gatto, and Michelle MacLean. Ever loving Baba of Sarah, Adam and Sean Gatto and MacLean Colwill. Loving uncle and friend of Jacqueline (Montreal), Jim and Linda (Scotland), many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Scotland and many friends in Canada. A peaceful, caring, gentle man, who accepted his illness with dignity, peace and acceptance. Doug lived for his family, he enjoyed many years spent at the trailer and the past few years travelling in this 5TH Wheel with Anne and their grandkids. Doug is resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Doug will be held on Tuesday evening at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at St. Joseph's Church, 409 Paisley Rd., Guelph, at 9:30 a.m. Interment Marymount Cemetery, Guelph.
