Edmund Vincent Morris

MORRIS, Edmund--(Member of the Knights of Columbus, The Fr. Doyle Council) Passed away at his home in Guelph, on Monday, May 19, 2008. Edmund Morris, age 94 years, was the beloved husband, for sixty-three years, of Margaret (nee Gainer) Morris of Guelph. He was the loving father of John and his wife Eleanor of Elora, Peter and his wife Grace of Kincardine, Paul and his wife Maureen of Bowling Green, OH and Matthew of Guelph. Edmund was the proud grandfather of Vincent (Alison), Stephen (Beth), Colleen, Cara (Adrian Tegler), Krista (Dr. Stephen Tomini), Alison (Paul Turnbull), and Natasha (David Sharpe), and the great-grandfather of Jacob. He was the dear brother of Kevin (Valerie), James (Maisie), Patrick (Marcia), Helma (Wilfred Mayne) and to his sister-in-law Mary Lou (Bill Armstrong). Predeceased by his siblings Carbury, Mary, and Jordan. Survived by his sisters-in-law Sylvia and Jackie Gainer. Predeceased by brothers- and sisters-in-law Joseph and Vivian Gainer, Myrtle and Lawrence Gourlay, Gordon Gainer, Mary Gainer, Russell and Jean Gainer, Arthur and Evelyn Gainer, Leonard Gainer, Theresa and Jack Baye, and Carman Gainer, and by many nieces and nephews. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, where the family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Edmund will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Joseph's Church, 409 Paisley Rd., Guelph, on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 10 a.m. Interment, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph, As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Right to Life would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home or send condolences to www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com ).
