Florindo Scapin

Florindo passed away peacefully in his 83RD year in his sleep on Saturday, January 26, 2019. His family was by his side during his prolonged battle with cancer and in his final hours. Florindo is survived by his wife and best friend, Erminia. He was the dear father of Margaret (Glen Sherritt) and David. He is survived by his brother Lucio (Mirella) Scapin and by his sisters-in-law Ilda and Oliva Scapin and by his many nieces and nephews. Florindo is predeceased by two brothers Ricardo and Vittorio Scapin. Florindo will be fondly remembered by his other relatives and friends both in Italy and Canada (Dyer’s Bay).

The Scapin family wish to express their sincere thanks to the Bayshore nurses and to the personal care workers at Closing the Gap for all their wonderful compassion and support.

As per Florindo’s wishes, cremation has taken place. His family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, 409 Paisley Rd., Guelph on Friday, February 1st, 2019 at 11 a.m. Entombment of ashes in Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph, will follow. As expressions of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations to the charity of one’s choice is appreciated by the family.
