LARKIN, H. Geoffrey - With profound sadness we announce the passing of Geoff, deeply loved husband and father, from pancreatic cancer on Friday, September 9, 2011 at the age of 59. Geoff is survived by his companion and partner in life, Nancy, sons Mathew (Samantha) and Adam (Jordan) as well as his brothers Mike (Leta), Chris (Maggie), Robin (Jane) and Laurence (Elizabeth). He was predeceased by his father and mother, Howard and Shirley Larkin. Loved and missed by his mother and father-in-law, Joan and David Lloyd (Guelph), sisters/brothers in law, Sue and Paul (Midland) and Darrell and Gayle (Hinton, AB), as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. We were fortunate to have wonderful friends and family who visited, telephoned and helped support us during his illness. Our trip to the Caymans, borrowing the Porsche and our road trip to the Brickyardgave us both many wonderful memories that helped sustain us as his illness progressed. Geoff was well known as the owner/operator of Larkins Auto Inc., Tottenham, ON for over 25 years and then as Service Manager of Southend Automotive/Milburn Auto Sales, Guelph, ON for the past 5 years. Those who knew Geoff through business will remember his honest, knowledgeable, automotive advice, but his family will remember him as a devoted, kind and loving father, husband and brother. His loss leaves a huge void. Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, Guelph, ON. Cremation has taken place. In following Geoff's wishes, there will be no service at this time but a celebration of Geoff's life will follow at a later date.
