Cunningham, Douglas Gilbert “Gib” 1938-2014 It is with extreme sadness that Gib’s family announces his passing after a struggle with cancer, at Hospice Wellington on Sunday, February 2, 2014. Gib was the youngest son of the late Archie and Margaret (Nichol)Cunningham, and a loving brother to John (Willa), Marion Mahoney, Muriel Bedrosian, Jean (Sam) DeHann, Olive (Guido) Sartor, all of Guelph, and Lorraine Holmwood of Calgary. Predeceased by sister Catherine Turner (2012), and brothers James (Cus) (2009) and William (Bill) (1984). Loved brother-in-law to Geraldine Cunningham, Sharon Cunningham, the late Bill Turner, Mike Mahoney, Ab Bedrosian, and Tom Holmwood. Dear nephew of John Nichol of Blacklands, Restigouche Co. NB, Donald Nichol of Guelph, and Viola (Nichol) Diodati of Niagara Falls ON. He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, as well as his three devoted dogs. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, where visitation will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 11 a.m., with Dr. Wilma Welsh, cousin of the deceased, officiating. A private interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park will take place at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any animal rescue centre, Knox Presbyterian Church Building Fund, Guelph, or to a charity of your choice.
