Howard James Bennion

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Howard James Bennion on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at the Guelph General Hospital. Howie was in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Maureen Anderson Bennion. Devoted father of Andrew and Jane Bennion, and predeceased (1995) by daughter Angela Bennion (Desmitt) and step father to Lorna Horchover. Grandfather of Brittney, Liam and Abigail Bennion, Tyler Essery, Sylvia and Jake Desmitt, Shaun Gibson and Kiana and Kiara Horchover. Howard also had many great grandchildren. Predeceased by his brother John (2009) Howie will be missed by his many friends and family.

Howie spent his working career as a millwright until retirement. Howie was a snowbird where he and Maureen spent winters in florida gathering with many friends for almost 20 years. He loved to travel, either to the islands or time on the open waters on many cruise ships. His love was football and his team was Liverpool- Go Reds- His other love was Darts which he played for many years and won many trophies with his team in Oshawa. He enjoyed family time and regular family visits where good conversation and laughter was always had. He will certainly be in our hearts forever.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home- Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin Street North, Guelph. Cremation has taken place.

A memorial visitation will take place on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. A Memorial Service will begin at 1:30pm in the Dublin Chapel. Reception to follow.
