Loving husband to the late Joan (Haennel) and second wife Jacqueline (Deans). Beloved father of the late Lynn (1993) and Lori Theaker. Cherished grandfather to Jamie, Laura, Jonathon (Sam), Lynsey, Joshua (Mel) and great-grandfather to Natalie and Easton. Dear brother to Lawrence (Viera), Hank (Ronnie), Vicky and Kathryn. Will be missed by all friends and extended family.
Born to Maud and Harry Theaker on October 13, 1931. James grew up on Edinburgh Road in Guelph, ON. James loved spending his days riding around on his motorcycle. With the motorcycle and his charm, he met Joan. Many claimed that James was born with a hammer in one hand and a fishing pole in the other. He was a passionate and hard worker who “worked 7 days a week”. In his early career, he spent many years working for Union Gas, and then eventually ventured out and opened his own natural gas company; Jim Theaker Natural Gas.
James created many memories while travelling across northern Canada and Alaska, as well as road trips in his motor home. He enjoyed activities with friends, especially rafting with Roy and camping with Jerry. Later in life James found his second love Jackie and carried on his travelling traditions with her and his family. Once life slowed down, James would share stories with his neighbouring residents and staff at St. Joseph’s Health Centre.
His stories, adventures and legacy will be cherished and remembered forever.

The family also sends their sincerest gratitude to the Guelph General Hospital ER including Amanda, and all the nurses and doctors for their assistance. And a final thank you to Jennifer Fisher who took James on lovely outings every week.
