

John Edward (Ted) McDonald – Passed away suddenly on October 5, 2014, at home in Guelph in his sixty-sixth year. A loving husband for over forty-two years, Ted is survived by his wife Anne and sons John (Kathryn), Ian (Heather), James (Erin) and David. Predeceased by his father John, he will be greatly missed by his dear mother Betty and sisters Ruth Ann (John) and Mary Lou (David). A proud grandfather of Evelyn, William, Emma, Jack and Abigail, he will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, cousins and large extended family. Ted was quick of wit and loved life to its fullest. Having worked so hard his whole life, Ted made the most of his retirement. He travelled with Anne and explored and experienced the best of Canada, while wintering in the Sunshine State. The example he set for his sons will live on through them as his legacy. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, October 9th from 3:00- 5:00 p.m. and 7:00- 9:00 p.m. at the Hart Chapel, Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph. A funeral service will be held at the Hart Chapel on Friday, October 10th at 11:00 a.m. with fellowship to follow. Donations in Ted’s honour to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity close to your heart would be greatly appreciated.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.
