

John Quinn of Guelph, Ontario died on August 7th at home surrounded by his wife and son. He was born on April 10, 1945 in Lanark, Scotland and came to Canada in 1967. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Anne (nee Turner) whom he married in 1968, his adoring son Stuart (Kathleen McColm) and his grandson Declan. He is survived by his sister Eleanor, his brother Kenneth, his sister-in-law Linda, his brothers and sisters-in-laws Alec Turner (Liz), Evelyn Turner, Nora Hamilton (Archie), George Turner (Katrina), and Patrick Turner (Hazel). John will also be missed by his numerous nieces and nephews. John is predeceased by his brothers-in-law Bob Omen (May 9, 2014) and John Turner (October 3 1997). John worked as an electrician for over 40 years. He had many hobbies including golf, gardening and woodworking. John was well known for always helping others. A visitation will be held at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St. Guelph, between 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Monday, August 11, 2014. A reception will be held afterwards at Mini Lakes Retirement Community in the Pavilion between 5:30 and 8:00 pm. Mini Lakes Retirement Community is located at 7541 Wellington Road 34, Guelph, N1H 6H9, just north of the 401 (exit 299), just east of Brock Road. Please enter through gate 3 and go south on Bull Frog lane to the Pavilion. Memorial donations may be made in John’s name to the Guelph General Hospital Chemo clinic at www.gghfoundation.ca.
