ELLIG, Joseph Arthur— It is with profound sadness that the family of Joseph Ellig announces his passing on Friday, May 30, 2014. He was in his 92nd year. Joe was the beloved and cherished husband of Mae (nee Turner) Ellig for 66 years. He was a devoted and loving father to Linda (Murray) Shaw, Jody (Ken) Burtch and Susan Ellig. His grandchildren Ben Shaw, Kendall (Rob) Skinulis and Joel Burtch were his pride and joy. Joe lived each day for his family and regaled in their accomplishments. He is survived by his sisters Marie (late Vic) Bordignon, Evelyn (late John) Burton, Maddy (Doug) Seiling and Cecile (Clarence) Hummel, by sisters-in-law Ruth and Joyce Ellig, and by brother-in-law Frank Turner (Vicki). Joe was predeceased by brothers Wilfred (late Betty), Francis, and Jim and by sisters Isabel (late Harry) Male and Eileen McDonald. Joe was a truck driver for over 24 years for Federal Wire and he was a City of Guelph bus driver for 16 years. He had a great zest for life and he lived each day to the fullest.
