

Krisztina Kecskes (Kovacs) passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at LaPointe Fischer Nursing Home. Krisztina was 103 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Kecskes (1998). Loving mother of Piroska (Pearl) and her late husband of Joseph Olah of Guelph. She was the dear grandmother of Zoltan (Erika) of Hungary and Aniko (Rob) of Guelph; great grandmother of Christine (Andrew) and Kinga and great-great grandmother of Cole and Mikaela.
Krisztina immigrated from Hungary to Canada in 1957 with her daughter Piroska and soon to be son-in-law Joseph. She moved to live in Calgary, Alberta where she met her future husband Charles and were happily married for 34 years. When Charles passed away, Krisztina moved to Guelph, Ontario to be closer to her much loved daughter Piroska and her family. Krisztina loved her family and took great joy in celebrating birthdays and holidays with her family. Krisztina was a deeply devoted catholic and attended mass regularly at St. Joseph’s Parish.
Krisztina was blessed with many special talents including her ability to create beautiful ornaments; her needlepoint work was exquisite and she took great enjoyment at crocheting pieces at the Evergreen Senior Centre where she attended every Friday for many years.
Krisztina’s family wishes to express their gratitude to all of the staff at LaPointe Fischer Nursing Home for the loving care that Krisztina received over the past four years.
Krisztina touched the lives of many people. Her loving memory will live on in the hearts of all those whom she touched and she will forever be remembered as our dear Nagymama.
Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home- Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin Street, North, Guelph. Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 10:00am to 10:30am. Funeral Service to follow in the Dublin Chapel at 10:30am with Father Jeff Bergsma officiating. Interment at Marymount Catholic Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Foundation of the Guelph General Hospital would be appreciated.
