Lillian Berry peacefully completed her lifetime on August 11th, 2021. She was filled and surrounded by love and was looking forward to her eternity with Jesus. Lillian loved, and was loved deeply by her wonderful, large family. She cherished her loving partnership with her husband David (deceased 2006). She had a lifelong friendship with her sister Vivian and her siblings Gertrude and Harold. She was a constant source of love and encouragement to her three daughters Susan Cummins, Sandra Berry and Deborah McDougall as well as their families. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren will treasure their joyful memories of being loved by “Gigi”. Each one learned to rely upon her prayers and wisdom. Lillian worshipped and served at The Salvation Army Church in Guelph for most of her life, cherishing the opportunity to share the love of Jesus in caring ways. Teaching children and encouraging parents was her calling. The families from Parkwood Gardens and The Salvation Army Nursery Schools will remember Mrs. Berry and her life lessons with fondness. Lillian loved and greatly appreciated her neighbours both on Evergreen Drive and later at The Arboretum – they filled her life with care and laughter. The friendships formed at her Bible study and prayer groups brought her rich fulfillment. Every day of Lillian’s life humbly reflected her desire to love Jesus and love others. Those who know and love her, rejoice that she has been called home into the loving arms of Jesus.
Her family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph on Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 2 - 7 p.m. To attend the visitation and due to Covid restrictions, guests must register on the funeral home website. A private family funeral service will be held on Monday, August 16, 2021 at the Salvation Army Citadel.
Lillian asked that gifts of love be given to “The Guelph Salvation Army – Messy Church” which was a family ministry she loved and participated in for several years.
Gifts can also be given to the Wellington Hospice in appreciation for their loving care of Mom in her final days of life.
