Born in Scigliano, Cosenza, Italy on February 25, 1928, to Grazia and Filippo Orobono, Luigi lived a life marked by resilience, devotion, and deep love for family and tradition. He was the beloved husband of the late Assunta (née Altomore), with whom he shared 54 cherished years of marriage until her passing in 2019.
Luigi was a devoted father to Filippo and Vincenzo, and a caring Nonno to Destiny, Ciara, Olivia, Lukis, and Thomas. He is survived by his sister Palma Sposato, and will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends.
An avid gardener with a lifelong passion for music—particularly opera—Luigi also enjoyed playing rhythm and folk guitar. He was a man of remarkable strength, self-sufficiency, and determination. He worked hard throughout his life and always found joy in the simple pleasures, especially time spent with his family and tending to the garden he so loved.
Luigi’s ambition, determination, warmth and wisdom, and enduring spirit for his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
