Marian Elizabeth Cathro

She was a devoted mother to Garret and Alysha (Jeff), and a proud grandmother to Devan. Marian was also a beloved sister to Lynn, Teresa, Cindy, and Dora, and will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

Known for her kind heart and generous spirit, Marian had a deep love for children and always found joy in their presence. She especially cherished the time she spent with her late mother—many of their happiest moments were spent swimming together, sharing laughter and stories.

Marian had a brilliant mind, particularly with numbers, and was always the go-to person for helping her kids with their math homework. Her talents extended into the kitchen as well, where she was an excellent cook who brought comfort and joy through her meals.

A lover of shopping, Marian had a particular fondness for purses, cozy blankets, and children’s clothing—always thinking of others in her thoughtful finds.

Marian’s warmth, intelligence, and loving nature touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 409 Paisley Rd, Guelph, followed by interment at Marymount Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Delta Hotel, 50 Stone Rd W, Guelph.
