

HEALEY, Nathan Joseph - Nathan (Nate) Healey passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the age of 34. Nate struggled courageously with mental illness for 20 years before taking his own life. Nathan was the much loved son of Larry and Pam Healey and a kind and generous brother to Deirdre, Conor and Meghan and their partners Shawn Cummings, Rachel Schill and Dan Herman. He was the playful uncle to Peyton Cummings and the thoughtful grandson to Aubrey and June Hagar. He was also a nephew to Jeff and Wendy Hagar, Blair and Gunta Hagar, Josephine Healey, Mary Jane and Morris Milburn, Jim and Marion Healey, Elaine Healey and Joan Ann Healey (deceased). Nathan was an intellectual, an athlete and a musician. He graduated from the University of Guelph in landscape horticulture and was most at peace designing beautiful landscapes and growing and nurturing plants. He was also an excellent golfer and avid fisher. Friends and family will remember his ability to engage in deep and thought-provoking conversation about a range of topics, from science and philosophy and politics to investing in the stock market. There will be a Service in Nate's memory at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home , Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place.
