He was a loving father to Frederick James (Hongli “Monica” Li), Laura May, and Kate (Chris Riverso), and a proud grandfather to Lucas (Rachael) and Atticus Mason. Predeceased by his sister, Juanita Hager and brother Marshall Vernon. Lovingly missed by his brothers and sisters in law; John Hendra (Robin), Peter Hendra (Liza Lawson) and Cathie McCabe (Barry), Jenipher Appleton (nee Hammell) (Tom) and their families.
A passionate educator and advocate, Pat was known for his unwavering dedication to special education, serving and supporting countless children, youth, and families. He worked as a Special Education Consultant with the Upper Grand District School Board and was an educator, director, and advocate with Portage Ontario in Elora devoting his energy to youth advocacy and caregiving. His hands-on approach extended beyond his professional life, tackling DIY projects, tending to his garden, spending time with his wife, and lending a helping hand to neighbours and friends.
