MCTAVISH, The Rev. Richard James “In My Father's house are many mansions. I go to prepare a place for you. I will come again and there you will be also.” Went home peacefully to be with his Lord on Friday July 9, 2010 at the Elliott in his 79th year. Loving husband and best friend of Joan McTavish of 54 years. Loving father of Duncan, Cameron (Diane), and Linda. Grandchildren Decia, Reid, Elisia, Ryan, Willem, and Jason. Brother of Ellen (Keith) Clutton, William (Joanne) McTavish, and brother-in-law of Bev (Donna) Sparkman. Edward (Judy) Homeyer. Predeceased parents David and Margaret and brother Donald. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. High school teacher and ordained Baptist Minister. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home "Dublin Chapel" 252 Dublin Street, North, Guelph where the family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday July 13, 2010 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 14, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, 255 Woolwich Street, Guelph at 2 p.m. Private Interment, New Hope Cemetery, Hespeler.
