Robert Edward Durham

DURHAM, Robert Edward - At Guelph General Hospital on Saturday, August 15, 2009. Robert is survived by his loving wife Barbara and their sons John Edward Mack (Carol) of Hudson, Quebec, Timothy Charles of Calgary Alberta and Mark Andrew (Missy) of Madison New Jersey, and 8 Grandchildren Shane, Alex, Jacinthe, Colin, Sarah, Evan, Geoffrey and Owen, and two nieces, Elizabeth A. Bird and Alyce C. McCabe. Born in Oshawa, Bob was the youngest son of the late Frederick Charles and Beatrice Kate Durham. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Arthur Neville and his sister, Florence Ethel. In 1951, he graduated from the Ontario Agricultural College, and joined the Upjohn Company, retiring in 1988 after 37 years. Memberships were held in the Royal Canadian Military Institute and in the University of Guelph Alumni Association. Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, on Thursday August 20, 2009 (2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.). A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2009 at St. Georges Anglican Church, 99 Woolwich Street, Guelph at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow.
