Deeply missed by his wife Catherine (nee Campbell) of 60 years, son Paul (Lori), daughters Rhonda, Catherine (Dan) and Ann (Mike), as well several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Will be remembered by his brothers Patrick (Evelyn), Roderick (Paulette) and Jim Barrett.
Born and raised in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Ron carried with him the deep-rooted values of the East Coast: family, hard work, and community. In 1965, he made the move to Ontario in search of new opportunities, eventually finding his calling in law enforcement.
Ron served proudly as a police officer with the Ontario Provincial Police, dedicating the majority of his career to the Milton Detachment. He later continued his service at Queen’s Park, where he concluded a long and respected career in public service.
Outside of his work, Ron lived a life filled with simple joys. He was an avid golfer in his younger years, a lover of music, and cherished every moment spent with family. Summer road trips back to Nova Scotia were among his favorite traditions, reconnecting with his roots and the place he always considered home.
Ron’s legacy is one of integrity, devotion, and kindness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home. Private cremation services have taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer’s Society or Hospice Wellington would be greatly appreciated by the family. Donations and condolences can be made online on Ron’s memorial page at www.gilbertmacintyreandson-dublin.com
