

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sarop Nercessian, who peacefully left us on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Guelph General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 2nd 1936, in Jordan to Yanofik and Seranous, Sarop was a hardworking and devoted family man whose life was filled with love, dedication, and kindness. His tireless work ethic and his unwavering devotion to his family were the cornerstones of his character.
Sarop was predeceased by his beloved wife Norma Maloukian, with whom he shared a deep and enduring love. Together, they raised a beautiful family. Sarop was the proud father of Jack (Rita), John (Josie), Rita (Mike), Diana (Krikor), Yeno (Joana).
As a grandfather, Sarop cherished his role as " Jeddo" (Grandpa) to his grandchildren: Patrick, Jessica, Stephanie, Nathaniel, Kennadynne, Naoimi, Michael, Tracey, Anthony, Luciana and Adam. His legacy will live on through them, and he will be fondly remembered for the joy and wisdom he shared with each of them. Sarop was also a loving great-grandfather, loving uncle and loving friend. He will forever be remembered and missed, but his love and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were touched by his kindness and strength.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at St. Joseph’s Health Centre for their care and compassion during his final days.
A visitation will be held on January 5, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at St. George's Anglican Church, located at 99 Woolwich St, Guelph. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the same location. A committal service will take place following the service at Marymount Cemetery, 5400 Hwy 6, Guelph. Everyone is invited back to the church for a reception after the burial.
