Theresa was raised on a farm in Guelph Township where she learned the meaning of hard work. As a young girl, Theresa and her siblings grew up and persevered during the Great Depression. Theresa was a long-time member of the Guelph Township Horticultural Society and a life member of the Catholic Women’s League, sitting as President on both organizations. She was active in the creation and early running of Marden Park in Guelph-Eramosa Township. She taught flower arranging classes, judged at flower and vegetable shows, and volunteered at many events such as Meals on Wheels. Theresa was a caregiver and had a wonderful enthusiasm for life. She raised her family sharing in this mindset, to respect and support others. Theresa forever had an encouraging word and wanted the best for all. Her loving and positive outlook on life was directed to her family, relatives and many friends.
The family extends our thanks to the special service and care provided by the 4th floor staff of The Elliott Community. Their efforts and empathy were exemplary.
At Theresa’s request, a private family memorial service and burial has already taken place.
As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate any donations to be made towards Operation Smile. Condolences can be made online on Theresa’s memorial page on Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin St. N Guelph. www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com.
