

MACEROLLO, Vincent Carmine— Peacefully, passed away at the Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Vincent C. Macerollo, age 95 years, was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Contini) Macerollo (2008). He was the dear father of Joseph (Frances), Robert (Jean), Nick and Barbara (Don) Webber. Vincent was the loved Tatone of Jennifer (Tom), Paul (Jill), Andrea (Nick), Mark, Jessica, Alisha and Christie and great-grandchildren Jaymes and Lee. He was the dear brother of the late Domenic and Louis (Harpo). Predeceased by his parents Giuseppe and Nicoletta Macerollo. Vincent was born in Villa Santa Maria, Italy on October 15, 1919. In 1933 he went to Rome for three years until 1937 when he and his brother Louis (Harpo) with mother Nicoletta moved to Canada to join his father Giuseppe and older brother Domenic. They moved to Elizabeth St. in Guelph, subsequently moving to Morris St. and finally settling at Dublin St. N. Vincent attended Sacred Heart School and started his first job at Biltmore Hats. From there, he worked at Taylor Forbes until it closed and then he worked at ARMCO until his retirement. The highlights of his life were receiving his Canadian Citizenship in 1949, his marriage to Mary and the births of his children. Vincent and Mary participated in an active social live in Guelph and passionately dedicated their weekends to selling vegetables at the Guelph Market. They were members of the Church of Our Lady. Vincent was a fixture at the church when opportunity prevailed at evening Mass on Saturday nights. He was a life-time member of the Italian-Canadian Club. His legacy is his family. Vincent’s life was filled with such great memories, and because of his long life, he was saddened by the loss of so many friends. The Macerollo family wishes to thank the Rev. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, (on Sunday, February 15 and Monday, February 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.). A Vigil for Vincent will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate, 28 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 10 a.m. Entombment, Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph.
